CONDITION REPORT: The chocolate brown tropical dial is in excellent condition and retains its original tritium indexes with a nice patina along with the hands. The dial is the 'high swiss' correct configuration for a 105.012 reference. The DO90 bezel has faded over time to a rich brown color. The case appears to be unpolished and the double bevel caseback is crisp with some tool marks. The seahorse logo and lug edges are intact.
Notes: According to the Omega Museum Archives Extract, the present watch was manufactured December 28, 1966 and delivered to Greece.
The Speedmaster reference 105.012-65 is considered the original moon watch was this was the reference worn by astronaut Neil Armstrong when he first set foot on the moon during the Apollo XI mission in 1969. |
