CASE: 40mm, strainless steel case. Screwed-down case back and crown, graduated bidirectional revolving Blue bezel for the decompression times, triplock winding-crown protected by the crown guard. Glass in acrylic

CONDITION REPORT: Overall excellent condition, unpolished and all original. The lume has a rich patina overall. Partial reference sticker still visible on the caseback.
NOTES: The Tudor reference 79090, introduced in the late 1980s and produced into the mid-1990s, is one of the last Tudor Submariners to retain the classic vintage aesthetic, including an acrylic crystal and tritium lume, before the brand shifted toward more modern designs. Featuring a 39mm stainless steel case, bidirectional rotating bezel, hesalite crystal and iconic Mercedes hands, it was powered by the reliable ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. Unlike earlier Tudor Subs that shared many parts with Rolex, including the case and crown, the 79090 marked a transition as Tudor began asserting its own identity. With a date function at 3 o'clock and cyclops magnifier, it remains a favorite among enthusiasts for its blend of Rolex heritage and Tudor individuality. |
