Rolex GMT Master*** 16700 Pumpkin*** 1990
ROLEX GMT Master Pepsi Bezel Ref. 16700, Pumpkin Patina, 1990
Serial: E418075
Circa: 1990
Reference No.: 16700

DIAL: Black glossy dial with white gold applied tritium luminous hour markers, beveled date aperture at 3 o’clock. Mercedes hour and pencil minutes hand, lollipop seconds and red color GMT hand indicating the second time zone.

CASE: 40mm, stainless steel with red/blue rotating 24h bezel and sapphire crystal with loupe for date at 3 o’clock.

MOVEMENT: Caliber 3175, Self-winding mechanical movement with 31 jewels

BRACELET: Rolex stainless steel Oyster 78360/501B, date code P11 (1991)

CONDITION REPORT: Stunning dial with pumpkin patina on the indexes, only found, and rarely, on early examples of the 16700. Case is quiet worn, but appears unpolished to us. Bracelet is intact and original with matching date code. Insert is worn and has faded slightly and matches overall condition. Hands appear to have been nicely color matched. A stunning and rare aging of the 16700 reference.
The movement was fully overhauled in November 2021.

NOTES:
In 1988 the reference 16700 replaced the 16750 with a different case, sapphire crystal and 3175 caliber instead of 3075. The reference 16700 was priced lower compared to the GMT Master II Ref. 16710 introduced around the same time (The 16710 replaced the 16760 in 1989). The 16700 is the last GMT Master. Sometimes this 16700 reference is called "The Last Master".
It came with a tritium dial until 1997 (U serial) and Luminova starting in 1998. The model was then entirely discontinued in 1999.
