Patek Philippe introduced the Nautilus 3700 in 1976 and was nicknamed the Jumbo due to its 42mm size. A follow up genius design by the renowned Gerald Genta. The 3700 was in production from 1976 until approximately 1990. Its smaller counterpart, the 3800 remained in production for many more years. In 2006, Patek officially relaunched 'Jumbo' with the 5711 in 2006 marking the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus model. In 2012, Patek released the white dial (dial code 11) with black hour markers, hands and applied date window often nicknamed the 'Piano Dial'. Note that the blue 5711 had a bevel date aperture until its last series green dial. The white dial had an applied date window all through its production from 2012 to 2022. There was only 1 white dial Jumbo Nautilus 3700 made in 1978 for a special order. This prototype dial watch was sold at Sotheby's in 2015 and sold for CHF 250,000. Since much fewer white dial 5711 were produced and they were less popular during their production run, it would seem plausible seeing how patterns tend to repeat, that they will be worth more in the future.
