In 1999, Omega re-released the first Speedmaster with a Moonphase and a date in 18K white gold since the original stainless steel 1980's reference 345.0809. It is often called the SpeedyMoon. The Calibre 1866 fitted in this watch was derived from the original caliber 866 developed by Lemania. It has a fourth register at 12 o'clock with the moonphase indicator as well as the date. Both funtions are individually set using two correctors on the left case side with the help of a pin tool. This reference was produced in very small quantities from 1999 until 2005 and only an estimated 500 pieces were made with the short index dial. These early SpeedyMoon in 18K white gold are not only rare, but also stunning in design.
