Omega Speedmaster*** 105.012-66 CB Brown*** 1967
OMEGA Speedmaster 105.012-66, CB Case, Tropical dial, 1967
Serial: 24538054
Circa: 1967
Reference No.: 105.012-66

CASE: 42mm, stainless steel, steel with black (blue) tachymeter bezel
‘CB’ case has atypical flat lyre lugs.

DIAL: Tropical Chocolate Brown matte dial with applied logo, tritium hour markers

MOVEMENT: Calibre 321, hand-wound column wheel chronograph, 17 jewels

BRACELET: Leather bracelet

CONDITION REPORT: The dial has faded to a rich brown chocolate color. The tritium indexes are present at all hour markers and have darkened over time with a nice patina. The tritium material has slightly thinned on the edges, but remains in good condition. The bezel faded to a rich blue color and the case is unpolished. The case back has some slight scratches, but the seahorse logo is sharp and clearly visible. The hands appear to have been refilled at some point and color matched.

Notes:

This Speedmaster known as the ‘CB Case’ is rare because nearly all Cal. 321 Speedmaster cases were manufactured by the Omega case-maker, Huguenin Freres & Co, in Le Locle, Switzerland and thus signed "HF" inside the case-back. Only in 1966 with the reference 105.012 did Omega use an additional case-maker, and signed "CB" in the case-back. These cases were only manufactured during a very short period of time and are extremely rare. This case has a particularity known as ‘flat lugs’. The lyre lugs on these cases had a flat edge at the top, making them easily recognizable compared to other lyre lug cases.
