Omega Cosmic*** 2471-1 Pre-Series*** 1948
OMEGA Cosmic Triple Calendar, Ref. 2471-1 "Pre-Series" , Two Tone Radium Dial, circa 1948
Serial: N/A (this pre-series does not feature a serial number)
Circa: 1948
Reference No.: 2471-1

CASE: 34mm, stainless steel, snap back, acrylic crystal

DIAL: Two tone Silver/Cream dial with radium luminous indexes, month and day window indication, blue printed date numerals, syringe luminous hands and blue date indicator hand.

MOVEMENT: Calibre 27DLPC, hand-wound mechanical movement, 17 jewels

BRACELET: Leather strap with Omega buckle

CONDITION REPORT: Worn, but excellent condition. The dial is original and retains its original radium luminous markers (UV & Geiger confirm originality) as well as the stunning two tone dial surface. The surface presents a few age spots and some tiny marks, but overall incredibly well preserved for its age. The case is sharp and shows signs of wear, but overall very nice.

NOTES: The present 'pre-series' example was sold at Phillips watch auction in 2017. According to their research with the Omega Museum, this watch appears to be a prototype, or a pre-series watch, that lead to the launch of reference 2471-1 in 1948.
The absence of a serial number prevents us from obtaining an archives extract, but we guarantee its authenticity. It also comes with an original Omega fitted box.
