NOTES: FAVRE LEUBA history begins in 1718 in Switzerland, when Abraham Favre decided to become a watchmaker. Abraham registered his manufacture in 1737. In 1814, Abraham Favre's grandson Henry-Auguste partenered with Auguste Leuba, a neighboring watch dealer from the Val-de-Travers. The business remained in the Favre family for eight generations, until 1969, when the quartz revolution greatly increased competition for the company's relatively expensive mechanical watches. Favre Leuba was very successful in India and today many of its finest historic timepieces still reside there. One of its most notable watch collections was the Bathy, launched in 1966, as a divers watch and included an innovative depth meter.
