Omega Speedmaster*** 105.003-65 Tropical*** 1967
OMEGA Speedmaster Straight Lug Ref. 105.003-65, Tropical Dial, Particular faded DO90 bezel, Circa 1967
Serial: 25441774
Circa: 1967
Reference No.: 105.003-65

CASE: 39mm, stainless steel, black ‘DO90’ tachymeter bezel (faded to brown and silver), straight lugs

DIAL: Tropical brown dial with applied Omega logo, tritium hour markers & T SWISS MADE T printed at the bottom

MOVEMENT: Calibre 321, hand-wound column wheel chronograph, 17 jewels

BRACELET: Omega stainless steel 1039 with cut 516 end links bracelet dated 66

CONDITION REPORT: The dial, hands, bezel and case are all original. The hippocampus on the case back is clearly visible and unpolished. The dial has faded to a rich brown color and luminous material has thinned over time and aged with a slight cream color patina. The bezel has faded over time to brown and silver in a very unique way. The bracelet is not the correct reference for this watch and endlinks have been cut to fit, but received as is and left it on.

NOTES:
The 105.003 reference is nicknamed 'Ed White' after the astronaut who famously wore this reference into space in 1965. The straight lug case was discontinued in 1967-68 at the end of the production of the 321 caliber and are not only rare, but highly collectible.
